Eastern Dragon Sketch: Thesis

Okay, so this was drawn two months before my Chinese Dragon Pencil Drawing. It was my first attempt at drawing an Eastern/Asian style dragon and I think I failed miserably. He looks far too vicious. His arms are just hanging there uselessly . . . The horns are crooked . . . There is so much fail in this picture.

It was drawn on lined paper because I made him during a Biology lecture. My sister had just finished her thesis, and she wanted a drawing to celebrate. Thus, Thesis was born. He's the only one of my dragons I've actually bothered to name . My sister's thesis topic was the identification of human remains following mass disaster and genocide. If he had a personality I would think him a rather depressing tragic sort.

I'm going to experiment with my style and try to stop drawing dragons so much like horses. I need to create different facial structures. My next one's gonna be super cute! This was done in mechanical pencil; I didn't bother with cleaning this time. The lines prevented me.
